STYLE RULES to live by!!

Instyle, Nov 2011 issue

She has always been the most stylish pig I know & this season she steps it up even more with her return to the big screen in her new movie ~

Ever so chic in a Chanel inspired look as she plays the French Vogue editor - layering pearls, so modern & yet so classic
Arriving at the Hollywood premiere for "The Muppets" - Miss Piggy brings back Old Hollywood glamour on the red carpet

Her evil nemesis in the film, Miss Poogy, has a style all her own ~ a lil tougher, a lil more rock & roll.
I'm sure an afternoon spent with Miss Piggy could help this gal out ;)

* I do love that she's showing her style & rockin a black fishnet Ballerina Shrug!

Our version of Ballerina Shrugs, shown here in sparkly silver & black stripes, with a thumb hole.
More colors & styles available at www.ch-armz.com

Have fun & keep on showing the world your style personality!! Just be sure to follow Miss Piggy's commandments ;)

Bonjour!!

Love Tatum

Another great style sighting @ THREAD show San Diego - love the bold pop of red on the fitted mini-dress against the backdrop of black.
Her black suede wedge booties are fantastic!
And don't even get me started on her JEWELRY - its ah-may-zing! Check it out @ www.lovetatum.com

Cheers to your style!!

A man who's got it goin on!

Ok, I don't know about you, but I love seeing a man have some unique style.
Its hard out there for a man to come up with a "look" of his own when there's not a lot of options - pants, shirts, jackets & that's about it. At least we have dresses & skirts to add into the mix, along with more top varieties...
I saw this fab dressed man @ the THREAD show San Diego this past weekend & he just rocked it. Funky, yet classic silhouettes, cool, yet approachable.
Hard to see in the photo, but his shirt had a faint mini white polka dot too - superb pattern mixing, loving the texture he created.
His sunglasses were made of wood, yes WOOD - very groovy. I couldn't even mock him for wearing them indoors (which is a major NO in my book, eye contact is key)
Seeing the return of the bow tie lately on quite a few men - I like it if you can pull it off & you know who you are if you can...
What do you think of his look?
Cheers stylin guy!

New Fall shows - 1st up - "New Girl"

Fox's new show "New Girl" premiered last Tues night & it's 1st episode brought the adorable quirkiness we all love about Zooey Deschanel.

Quick premise ~ sweet girl gets cheated on by boyfriend, dumps him, needs to find new place to live & ends up rooming with 3 guys. Hilarity guaranteed to ensue...

Costume designer, Debra McGuire, has given her character a charming real girl vibe. She dresses comfy, yet cute. She's a tad off-beat but not in a "trying to hard" manner. Color choices are playful and feminine. Can't wait to watch this character develop!

Who doesn't love a girl in glasses? Coming from one who is avoiding Lasik, I love my specs, especially for certain looks ;)

Post break up & on a "Dirty Dancing" bender - help this girl out!

Cheers to the new season ~

Emmys Red Carpet Review

I have to say, the red carpet this year for the Emmy's was a lil dull.
There were few, if any, "wow" moments on the carpet. It seemed quite safe & tame, which just equals boring when one is craving fashion.

Christina Hendricks - stunning in champagne
& beads

Christina Hendricks's gave us some Old Hollywood glamour with her nude fitted gown. The fit was a lil snug, but she has the curves to pull it off. I like her pop of color red lips & simple sexy hairstyling.
She did well with not over-accessorizing & letting the dress do its job - Cheers Christina!

Diana Agron - bold in electric blue

I actually missed Diana Agron on the red carpet live but when I saw this pic, she just jumped out at me.
Love the bright color choice!
The simplicity of the dress is divine since the color is so bold. The drape of the neck feminine & softening.
She proves one does not have to bare all to be sexy.
The hair, the make-up, the jewelry - all bravo!

Gwyneth Paltrow - 2 piece?

Ok Gwyneth, I love that you're a risk taker, that's fantastic, but really?
You have an amazing body, especially after 2 kids - its very lean & straight and this cut right at your mid-section is doing you NO favors.
Love the bead work, the pattern is exquistite, I just wish it fit you better...

Now, here's a lil starlet who got it right -
Sarah Hyland
Sarah Hyland of "Modern Family" did color & age-appropriateness right.
A beautiful salmon color for her, she kept her makeup natural & fresh, her hair loose & pretty.
Love the belt, jewelry & shoes. She's gonna be a contender on the red carpet for years to come!

Now, this one is going to sound a bit strange. I mean, I really tried to like this dress while watching Julie give her acceptance speech (Congrats Julie!) but it just did not fit her well, yet in this picture, she looks gorgeous. I do think this is an amazing dress, love the pattern, there just needed to be some work done within that plunging V.
Thank goodness pictures are what last a lifetime, cuz you look good here, Julie

DRESS ME!

POPAVINA Designer Marina Rahlin & hubby

I miss the days when ladies dressed to be ladies...

That's why I was so excited to run across this collection last month while @ the Summer Unique LA show!
I love love loved this zig-zag print dress as I walked by, it totally caught my eye, & had to snap a pic of her. As we got to talking she told me it was her design & then showed me more amazing dresses in her booth - all she does is dresses - amen!

Thank you Marina for bringing back the lady & putting her in style!!

I want to go there

LIZ LEMON, to know her is to love her. I think there's a lil bit of her in all of us - or is it a lil bit of us in her? TV's most real character gets some love today!

 What the what?...
Creating a character that is real & relatable is a huge challenge which is rarely achieved on tv these days. Tina Fey has achieved that with LIZ LEMON

Costume designer Tom Broecker has brought the every-woman to television with how accurately he depicts a working woman's look in the entertainment industry, an industry known for its glamour. For those behind-the-scenes it's anything but...comfort is key, but looking pulled together is essential since who knows where your day can take you. Liz tries & we love her for that.

Get your Liz on with these new look for Fall from the GAP, cuz where else would Liz shop...ok Target maybe too

Call of the Wild

LEOPARD - a timeless classic with a wild side

"The Stiletto" in gray
$198
One of the hottest pairs of jeans around right now is the Stiletto by Current/Elliott, a low-rise skinny cropped jean.
Grab a pair to add a lil spark to your jean wardrobe!
"The Stiletto" in camel
$198

What a fantastic way to pair these Current/Elliott jeans, of course Sarah Jessica Parker gets it right! She balances perfectly the girly pale pinkness of her belted trench & heels with the rocker-vibe of a faded gray leopard print jeans
"Morphing 100" calf hair pumps

"Maggie"

Having a very Louboutin moment & loving both of these LEOPARD offerings, from sexy to     racy & edgy...

& if a full leopard shirt, skirt, or dress is a bit too much animal print for you, why not give a hint of this trend by adding some Ch*Armz Gray Leopard attachable sleeves under your favorite tee...

Red HOT!

Bright colored pants are popping up everywhere these days - but are you bold enough to wear a pair?

Bursts of bright color & a play on various stripes, she wears this trend right!
I love, love, love the peep toe stripe shoes pulling together the look & the peek-a-boo of yellow if FUN!

Cheers to red pants ~

"The Good Wife" Kalinda Style

KALINDA SHARMA played by ARCHIE PANJABI on the CBS hit "The Good Wife" is one of t.v.'s most fun characters to watch!

Costume designer, Daniel Lawson has created a look that is all Kalinda's own - she is definitely one woman you'd be  scared to encounter in a dark alley alone.
Her tough as nails exterior is created with fitted skirts, jackets & vests that show off her fantastic figure, feminine but definitely with an edge!

Lawson keeps her palette in the darker tones with an occasional pop of a jewel tone, for a little allure.
It's refreshing to see a character ooze strength AND sexiness. You don't doubt her abilities or her intellect and you're keenly aware she's hot.

I like that Lawson gives the illusion of exposed yet covered up -
- miniskirts, but always with black nylons & knee high boots
- vests or short sleeved jackets, but not a bare-arm exposed underneath
- interesting necklines, but nothing too plunging

Here's some new Fall looks to help you create your own "Kalinda" look -

A good base to start with is this "Short Dress" by Dolce & Gabbana - fitted in a wool knit, this is a very versatile dress to play with...

A staple in her closet, & should be in your's too - a fitted leather jacket
Wentworth Leather jacket
by Tory Burch
Seamed Leather jacket
by Valentino

Change up the look from a dress & go mini with these hot black leather skirts -

Harness Leather mini skirt
by Alexander Wang
Leather panel mini skirt
by Neil Barrett

Seabury Skirt by Rag & Bone
Falcon Leather Knee High
Buckle Boots by B Brian Atwood

Dominique Leather Cut off Ankle
boots by 3.1 Phillip Lim

Enigma Rabbit fur lined
Ankle boots by Ash
And complete the look with a kick-ass pair of black leather boots!

Cheers Kalinda!!
