The Modern Cavewoman

Betty Rubble ~ who can forget that iconic laugh of her's?!

One of the original hotties before the dawn of modern times, her style is just as relevant today as it was then.

Her style can be flattering on every woman, its just a matter of finding the fit that accentuates your curves, with a pop of color & a giddiness that is oh so sexy.

I thought I'd update her style with adding the current hot trend of color blocking with the accessories.

Of course, the base is a BLUE dress! Why not go bolder with a COLBALT BLUE, like this strapless fitted lil number by Rebecca Minkoff - perfect for date nite or cocktails out with the girls...

Next, you add a splash of more color with this unbelievably gorgeous "Slap Dash Swarovski Crystal Bib Necklace" by Tom Binns...I mean, WOW!
"Alex" by Calvin Klein

And to finish the look, throw in our 3rd block of color, these chic
70s Grecian-inspired heels by Calvin Klein

Go on & rock your Betty style!!

Tip-toeing thru the daisies

Long summer days are upon us, don't you just want to kick off your shoes & stick your toes in the cool grass?...

I love this time of year - colors are popping out everywhere!! So much for the eye to feast on. Lately I'm finding myself drawn to the color GREEN everywhere I go, especially that BRIGHT GRASS GREEN. Here's some pieces that have caught my eye recently...enjoy

The perfect Summer fabric print -GINGHAM! Shirt by Cissus

While some faded boyfriend jeans or cut-off denim shorts would look great with this shirt, why not add a lil pop of COLOR or MIXED PRINTS
Add a splash with these AG Stevie Ankle Jeans in Bright Red for a hot summer look

Have a fun moment and pair it with these black with mini white polka dots by Seeing Spots

And when it comes to Summer evenings out, definitely go with COLOR! Save your LBD for the Winter! Check out this gorgeous green dress by Halston

A flattering fit on just about anyone, you can keep it simple or add a belt - I recommend a skinny gold belt for a night on the town

Enjoying my summer, inspired by all the green around me, what better way to soak it all up than sipping iced tea at my local french cafe...Au revoir for now

Summer Music festivals & rockin your own style

The Summer Music Festival season is upon us & who doesn't love a day outside listening to your favorite bands?!?!

Figuring out one's look for the day can be kinda tricky - Where's the venue? Is there much shade? In a field? A concrete playground? Day into night?
All of these elements can play into how you chose to express your personal style & what all you need to look chic, all the while maintaining an element of cool comfort.
I am the first to fall for some amazing fashion, but if you're not comfortable, you're not pulling off the look & to me what's the point if your clothes don't look like the skin you were meant to be in?

Its funny when you get a mass of hipsters together how they can all look the same - where does that "individuality" go? The trends become really obvious, but what becomes more obvious to me is those select few who really "know" their style & bring themselves through their clothes.

These ladies below stood out amongst the sea of people at an all day music festival in Pasadena, CA.
Love the mix of prints - one subtle, one bold!
Perfect carryall canvas tote - fits water, sunscreen, camera, phone, whatever else...
Both got it right on the footwear! The girls limping by in heels only wished they were as smart...
And in a world gone "mini", this chambray midi is timeless, the oversize side pockets - fantastic!
The cinched waist & fitted tank keeps the skirt from overwhelming her - simple yet so chic!

Add a lil edge with these earrings

Make a statement - tough yet sweet
With the long strap on & a pop of color, you're good all day

Cheers to style & showing the world who you are one outfit at a time!!
See ya on the streets!
